Promote your link with Social Media marketing


The basics are simple - you join the community and depending of the type of the site, you either start connecting yourself with as many other members as possible (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) followed by sharing "interesting" links from your own websites with them. Or link collection sites Digg.com, Fark.com, Fazed.org and alike.

The major four types of social media are: (1) blogs, (2) social networking sites, (3) social bookmarking sites, and (4) forums.

Start a Blogs: Blogs are a great way to reach a lot of people in a fast manner. They take a lot of work, and to make a blog really effective they need to be updated with fresh content at least several times a week. This could be a long-term means of getting traffic to your link in addition to other strategies mentioned here. The goodness of it is that there are free resources you can use to build your blog. The major thing however is to have useful content interesting to your prospective audience.

Comment on other blogs: Most of the blogs will allow for you to make your name on the comment appear as a link to your website/blog. By commenting on relevant blogs you will in most cases bring targeted traffic to your link and raise awareness of your existence to the owner of the blog.

Facebook: There are many ways you can promote your link through facebook. The two very easy and cheap strategies are utilizing already acquired friends and creating a Facebook page and/or group. Facebook is one of the best social networks out there that you can use in order to bring some targeted traffic to your link.

Use Twitter: Twitter is undeniably one of the rapidly growing social media. The ability to promote your product via twitter almost effortlessly should not be ignored. It’s really easy to gain followers on twitter you can promote your link or anything else, but of course without too pushy or engaging in open marketing. Be active member of your niche’s forum communities: Most forums will allow you to put a link to your website/link in your forum signature. Some of them will even allow multiple links in signature which means you can also build some deep links easily. In some cases you will be able to mention some of your blog posts or articles in forum discussions when they actually solve the problem asked in discussion. This will bring highly targeted free traffic to your site/link. No matter what the topic, there are thousands of people discussing it passionately on the Internet. By contributing to these discussion groups, you can inform your prospective targeted members and advertise your links. You however need to check out for forum reputation. Don't bother with groups consisting of pure spam. Instead, find groups where a serious dialog is taking place. Don't use aggressive marketing and overtly plug link product or service. Rather, add to the discussion in a helpful way and let the "signature" at the end of your e-mail message do you’re marketing for you. People will gradually get to know and trust you, visit your site, and do business with you.
